The
This university project should enhance skills in Tudor/ Elizabethan Costume making. The construction process included intensive research into the period, fabric sourcing and dyeing, budget and time management as well as experimenting with pattern drafting, decoration and mask making.
Undergarments consist of a Tudor corset, a Spanish farthingale, bumroll and petticoat. Top garments feature a doublet bodice with back lacing, decorated with lace trimmings and hand-knotted buttons, and a cartridge pleated skirt. The typical pleated Renaissance ruff is trimmed with gold lace. A hand-painted Giraffe mask is decorated with feathers and held on a wooden stick.
